Welcome to My World: Colourful Scrubs & Beautiful Chaos

Hi there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet!

I’m so excited (and honestly a bit nervous) to be starting this blog, but I figured it was time to share a slice of my world — the colourful, chaotic, heartwarming, and sometimes hilariously unpredictable life I live every day.

Let me introduce myself properly: I’m a nurse by profession, and a mum by pure magic. My wardrobe is a rainbow, my heart is full, and my house? Well, it’s usually buzzing with energy, laughter, and the occasional meltdown — which, to be honest, can come from me or the kids depending on the day!

I’ve always believed in bringing joy wherever I go, and for me, that starts with my scrubs. Every morning, I match my outfit down to the last detail — scrubs, shoes, cardigan, hair bow, and yes, even my underwear. (You won’t see it, but know it matches, and that’s what matters!) It’s my own way of adding a splash of colour and positivity into a job that can be equal parts challenging and rewarding. Patients notice it (they now call me the colourful nurse), colleagues smile, and it just sets the tone for the day.

But my most important job? That’s being Mum to two incredible boys who just happen to be autistic. They light up my life in ways I never imagined. Their quirks, their brilliance, their routines and rituals — they bring so much love and personality into our home. Life with them isn’t always smooth sailing, but it’s always an adventure. Some days we soar, some days we survive — but every day, we grow together.

This blog is my space to share stories from the ward and from our home, little wins, big feelings, colourful outfits, and all the beautiful mess in between. Whether you’re a fellow nurse, a parent of autistic kids, someone who loves a bold outfit, or just here for the ride — I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s get real, laugh a little, maybe cry a little too, and celebrate the joy in the everyday chaos.

With love and a matching hair bow,
Tiana or the colourful nurse
